Egypt for tens of billions of dollars of foreign capital to build logistics hub

埃及投资和国际合作部部长萨哈尔·纳斯尔25日说，埃及投资和国际合作部将与苏伊士运河经济区合作，在未来五年内吸引300亿美元外国直接投资打造国际物流枢纽。
纳斯尔当天在埃及海滨城市亚历山大举行的第四届国家青年会议上说，投资将用于基础设施和物流枢纽建设，目的是促进经济发展，创造更多就业岗位以及增加居民收入。
据悉，纳斯尔和苏伊士运河管理局主席穆哈卜·马米什将于8月访问新加坡，为大型国家项目寻求重要投资。
苏伊士运河经济区占地约461平方公里。过去几年，埃及政府一直在为苏伊士运河经济区寻求外国投资，以将其打造成国际物流枢纽。
由于政治不稳定以及安全问题等原因，埃及近年来面临游客减少、外国投资和外汇储备下降等经济困境。去年，国际货币基金组织与埃及达成协议，决定在三年内对埃及发放120亿美元贷款以鼓励该国实施经济改革。
